We give students a place to build complete maritime systems and develop practical engineering experience beyond their courses.
Founded in 2023
Sub Horizon is an independent technical student organisation for students at NTNU Ålesund.
We build maritime robots and autonomous systems across mechanics, electronics, control and software.
How we work
Projects, testing
and competitions.
Teams develop subsystems in parallel and bring them together through integration tests, sea trials and competitions.
Current work includes Atlas, Selene and Poseidon, with focus areas such as autonomy, control systems, machine vision, electronics and mechanical design.
